Doors

The front doors accommodate dual glass door mirrors for better vision, and the electric windows operate with one touch.

Our designers have created an unprecedented sense of space for a hatch with the 308's unique facia, which sweeps away from the driver at a striking 30° angle. The level of fit and finish confirms the high level of build quality and attributed to this car. Sliding side doors Guided by two support rails and a rail in the upper section, the sliding side door is panelled. Particular attention has been paid to the design of the handles to facilitate operation of the door. A second sliding side door (as standard) on the driver’s side allows easier access to goods. Load sill To facilitate the handling of goods or materials the Expert’s load sill is one of the lowest on the market.

Performance

When a vehicle is a working tool, you need to rely on it in all situations and be able to count on exemplary efficiency. Thanks to the quality of its wheels and suspension, the Expert’s stability is a benchmark. Regardless of load conditions, the rigidity of the body and MacPherson type independent wheel front suspension optimise handling. The semi-deformable rear suspension provides an excellent level of active safety.

The Expert has long and dense wheel travel stops. Continuously adjusting their rigidity and load flexibility, these stops form the link between front and rear suspension, ensuring stable vehicle handling and an excellent level of comfort even when driving with no load. The dampers have been designed to ensure excellent body stability and enviable suspension comfort.

HDi technology A source of performance and economy, the common rail injection system is featured on all Expert HDi turbo diesel engines. By injecting high-pressure fuel directly into the combustion chamber, this system significantly reduces fuel consumption and procures additional power whilst conforming to Euro 4 anti-pollution standards.

FAP Particle Filter The technology of the Diesel Particulate Filter System (FAP), standard on the Expert Professional, reduces diesel emissions to barely measurable levels whilst preserving power and performance.

For your Expert, you can choose between 2 HDi diesel engines. One of them is sure to meet the requirements of your business perfectly.

2.0 HDi The 88kW diesel engine features a variable geometry turbo. Its characteristics make it the ideal engine for both small trips around town and longer journeys on the open road.

2.0 HDi 100kW FAP Thanks to the common rail injection system, this engine develops exceptional torque of 320Nm for its category which makes it extremely efficient for long haul journeys. This engine is available on the Expert Professional.

Environment

Both of the Expert’s engines comply with the Euro 4 standard and are designed to facilitate your journeys and improve your eff iciency. They work towards the same objective: a concern for economy and the environment.

Every diesel engine generates particles. At Peugeot, we should know. Because we pioneered the use of particulate filters (FAP) in our diesels. FAP reduces particle emissions to barely measurable levels before they can escape into the environment. It works by trapping and burning these particles which combine to form soot. What's more, the FAP particle filter is self cleaning and is virtually maintenance free, all without spoiling the performance of your 308 HDi.

Carbon sink project Our commitment to the environment extends beyond our cars. In 1998, we set up a major ecological sponsorship by helping to create a 'carbon sink' (an area of plant life specifically set aside and developed to absorb atmospheric CO2) in the Amazon. Over 2 million trees representing 50 different species have been planted, which will allow scientists to study the relationship between reforestation, absorption of CO2 and climate control. Operation Carbon reflects the determination to fight as directly and effectively as possible against the increasing greenhouse effect.

Safety & Security

The Expert is a van for today’s business user, off ering a comprehensive range of modern equipment designed to improve the safety of both driver and passengers.

• • Braking With two ventilated discs at the front (304mm) and two nonventilated discs at the rear (290mm), the Expert offers high performance braking under all road conditions.
• • ABS The anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you to control the vehicle during emergency braking by preventing the wheels from locking.
• • EBFD Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) controls braking wheel by wheel to maximise stopping performance, particularly when cornering.
• • EBA Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps reduce stopping distances to a minimum by amplifying the pressure applied to the brakes. • Automatic activation of the hazard warning lights If you have to pull up sharply, the hazard warning lights will come on automatically to warn vehicles behind you.
• • ESP Available as an option, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) anticipates potential under- or over-steer and helps you to maintain control of the vehicle’s steering.
• • ASR As part of the ESP option, traction control (ASR) prevents wheel slip in the event of loss of grip.
• Front impact The Expert has been designed to protect driver and passengers. In the event of a front impact, the integrity of the passenger compartment is assured by three impact absorption structures; lower, medium and high. These are designed gradually to absorb impact energy, channelling it from the front to the rear of the vehicle.
• In the event of a side impact, energy is channelled and absorbed through the vehicle’s subframe.
• The Expert is designed to deflect and absorb energy in the event of a rear impact thanks to crumple zones and subframe components which help to contain the impact to the rear of the vehicle.
• The passenger safety cell is safeguarded in the event of a rollover thanks to the vehicle’s exceptional body strength.
• Vans often spend a lot of time in towns and cities, so pedestrian safety is high on Peugeot’s agenda. The structure of the Expert has been designed to reduce the effects of an impact with a pedestrian as far as possible.
• The steering column retracts in the event of a collision to provide maximum safety for the driver.
• All the seats in the Expert are equipped with three point seat belts. The outer belts are heightadjustable, with pretensioners and force limiters.
• An indicator and an audible alarm warn the driver if his/ her seat belt is unfastened.
• The backrest of the seats and head restraints have been designed to follow the movements of the body in the event of impact, thereby reducing as far as possible the effects of collision.
• The Expert is equipped with a driver’s airbag, helping to protect in the event of a frontal collision. A passenger airbag is available as an option.
• The Expert is equipped with a three-button remote control, allowing you to lock or unlock the vehicle, or the load space only. And once the vehicle exceeds 10km/h all the door locks are activated automatically.
